www.moderngirlsmovie.com EXCLUSIVE!

A VERY special thanks goes to Anita Rosenberg who made this movie possible! She wrote the story for Modern Girls and took it around Hollywood to be made! She was extremely kind in sharing these photos and memories of Modern Girls - give her a BIG thanks! Also, if you live in the LA area and you need a Feng Shui room makeover, Anita is your gal, go to her site!

Here is what she wrote about her experience:

I actually created this movie - it was about my life in LA going to nightclubs looking for guys. It was originally called Party Girls and I had made a super large board game that I took to pitch meetings. It was supposed to be a game come to life.

Most of the artwork and a lot of the props were mine from my apartment. I am even an extra in almost every scene. At that time, I had recently graduated from NYU film school (classmate was Spike Lee) and Atlantic Releasing - Tom Coleman - was the first place I wanted to make a movie with because they had done Valley Girl which was one of my favorite films. Unfortunately for me, I was not allowed to direct this film and they brought in another writer to re-write my script. After the film was made, Tom Coleman admitted that I should have directed this film. It would have had more character and personality. But in the late 80's there were only a few female directors. So, I stayed in the sidelines and gave my input from there. I was given co-story credit and associate producer credit - but I was thrilled to actually get a chance to make my first film. I cast all of the secondary players, most of who were my friends.
